    Lewis Arnold Van Tuyl. These pictures were taken in the summer of 1952. In the right picture, Phillip Sturman and Lewis in Phillip's front yard. They were both 17. 

    Lewis Arnold Van Tuyl was born 9th February 1935 in Three Rivers, Michigan. He died September 4th, 1996. He married Deana Joy Wilson on September 11th, 1954 at the First Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They were divorced on February 28th, 1964.

They had three children;

VAN TUYL, Lewis A. Sr. Lansing, Formerly of Kalamazoo

     Age 61, passed away September 4, 1996.  He was born February 9, 1935 in Three Rivers, MI and was a lifelong Kalamazoo resident, living in Lansing the past four years.  He worked for Eaton Corporation in shipping for 35 years, and was a veteran with the U.S. Army and Reserves.  Surviving are his children, Susan (Harold) Pitcher of Potterville, Lewis A. (Cindy) Van Tuyl of Kalamazoo, Charles A. (Sheryll) Van Tuyl of Germany; 8 grandchildren; brother, Marvin (Marlene) Van Tuyl of Kalamazoo; 3 sisters, Lois Goolsby of Comstock, Reita of Three Rivers, Ruby (Forest) Wright of Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews.  Religious Services will be conducted by Michael J. O'Berski at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 1996 at West Lansing Church of Christ, 5505 W. St. Joseph, Lansing, with interment in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.  Mr. Van Tuyl will lie-in-state at the church, where the family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.  Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw, Lansing.
