Myra Elizabeth Van Tuyl was the 5 born child of James VanTuyl and Penina (McElroy) Van Tuyl. Myra was born in 1881 in Marion Co. KA about 14 miles North of Newton. In 1883 Myra moved with her family to Potwin, KA.

Myra graduated from the 8^th grade of school and became a very efficient dressmaker. Aug. 1904 she was married to Charles Robert (Bob) Doty in her father’s home in the presence of many of their relatives and friends by Dr. J.W. Van De Walker, Minister of the Christian church. Myra and Bob had 10 living children. Myra & Bob lived in several states before heading “North” in 1920 to Alberta Canada where they farmed.

Myra died Sept 12, 1942 of diabetes and colon cancer. She is buried in Mr. Auburn Cemetery at Rimbey, Alberta, Canada.
